On February 4, China Resources Power signed a cooperation framework agreement with the Xianning Municipal Government, and an investment agreement with the Chibi Municipal Government for the Rural Revitalization Demonstration Zone Project along the Yangtze River Economic Belt with the contract amount of over RMB 50 billion.

Meng Xiangwei, secretary of the Xianning Municipal Party Committee, said at the signing ceremony that the past 20 years of close collaboration between Xianning and China Resources had saw their joint efforts in building a well-off society in an all-round way, providing a glimpse of China Resources Power as a good partner and Xianning as a wonderful place, that as the signing was a brand new beginning, the two parties would join hands for further development, and that he was looking forward to sustained quality energy supply by China Resources Power for greater contributions to the construction of modern Xianning and Chibi.

Tang Yong, President of China Resources Power, said that his company would work with local governments on ecological environmental governance in all aspects by relying on the diversified business models of China Resources Group, and boost the cluster development of modern agriculture, massive health industry, eco-tourism and other industries with the large-scale clean energy industry as the leader, in a bid to fulfill the requirements of the central government for establishing a new type of new relations between industry and agriculture and between urban and rural areas featuring coordinated development and common prosperity and expedite the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.

The Chibi Rural Revitalization Demonstration Zone Project along the Yangtze River Economic Belt is a specific initiative that China Resources Power has proposed to serve the national strategy after considering the national strategy, group deployment, its own advantages, and regional resource endowment systems of Chibi and Xianning. The implementation content will include ecological environment management, construction of large-scale clean energy bases, development of modern agriculture, improvement of rural infrastructure construction, promotion of the integrated development of rural primary, secondary and tertiary industries, enrichment of rural economic formats, and expansion of space for farmers’ incomes, which are highly consistent with the specific requirements of the central government for comprehensive implementation of the rural revitalization strategy.

This cooperation signing is an important action for China Resources Power to implement the spirit of the strategic cooperation agreement signed by and between China Resources Group and Hubei Province on August 19, 2020, increase investment in Hubei, and help Hubei revive for high-quality development after the epidemic. It marks a step further in the cooperative relationship between China Resources Power and Xianning City and Chibi City.
