On September 25th, members of the Belt and Road News Network (BRNN) Media Workshop, including mainstream media reporters from African countries such as Uganda, Nigeria, Zambia, Ghana, South Africa and all-media reporters from People’s Daily, came to the Flower City Guangzhou and visited China Resources Power, where they saw a beautiful garden-type power plant at a close distance, and learned about CR Power’s experience and exploration in clean energy, environmental protection upgrading and urban services.

Under the guidance of professionals, the workshop members first entered Guangzhou China Resources Thermal Power Co., Ltd., known as the “China Beautiful Power Plant”, and visited the main production areas such as ash removal and desulfurization system, boiler, steam turbine and centralized control room, the main facilities for innovative work such as ultra-low emission, municipal sludge disposal, energy storage and frequency modulation, as well as the characteristic ecological planting base Happy Farm along the way. They understood the green development concept, specific measures and achievements of CR Power, and experienced the green transformation practice of traditional thermal power enterprises at a close distance, and appreciated the rapid development of clean energy technology in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

At the exchange meeting, the relevant person in charge of General Office of CR Group introduced the development history and business fields of CR Group in recent years, the basic work done in the development of China’s Belt and Road, as well as friendly exchanges and business cooperation with African countries. Later, the visiting members further deepened their understanding of CR Group through watching promotional videos. Ma Li, General Manager of South China Region of CR Power, welcomed the arrival of the workshop members and wished all Chinese and foreign media friends to enjoy this tour to the green power plant and learn about the development characteristics and achievements of urban construction of cities along the Belt and Road by taking CR’s branch in Guangzhou as the link and window, thus promoting friendly exchanges between the two sides and common prosperity and development across the regions. Afterwards, the relevant person in charge of South China Region of CR Power introduced the overall development and business layout of CR Power and South China Region, as well as Guangzhou CR Thermal Power’s innovation and exploration in combining with urban development and seeking green transformation.

Domestic and foreign reporters asked questions focusing on the construction of CR brand, CR’s cooperation with countries in Africa and along the Belt and Road, and green development of energy, etc. Our representatives at the meeting answered the questions in detail and introduced CR’s initiatives and achievements in brand promotion and fulfillment of environmental responsibilities, as well as CR’s future development plans in the Belt and Road. The meeting successfully ended in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
