Report and Exchange Meeting of High-temperature Subcritical Comprehensive Upgrading Project Held in CR Power Xuzhou Project

On the morning of August 28th, the report and exchange meeting of the high-temperature subcritical comprehensive upgrading project was held in the Xuzhou Project of China Resources Power by China Energy Research Society (CERS). Over 50 people attended the meeting, including Hua Jianmin, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People’s Congress (NPC), Qin Zhongyi, former Chief Energy Engineer of National Energy Administration, Shi Yubo and Zhou Dadi, Executive Vice Presidents of CERS, Chen Jinxing, Vice President of CERS, Zheng Yuping, Secretary General of CERS, academicians including Ni Weidou, He Duohui, Chen Niannian and Su Wanhua, Professor Mao Jianxiong and other experts, leaders of the NPC Standing Committee of Jiangsu Province and Xuzhou, relevant persons in charge of Shenergy Company Ltd. (referred to as Shenergy) and Shenergy Power Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as Shenergy Technology), and President Hu Min of CR Power.

 

Executive Vice Chairman Shi Yubo presided over the meeting. Li Yi, General Manager of CR Power’s Xuzhou Project, and Feng Weizhong, General Manager of Shenergy Technology, reported on the high-temperature subcritical comprehensive upgrading project respectively. During the exchange session, the delegation made up of academicians and experts all agreed that this upgrading and transformation had an important and far-reaching demonstration significance for the energy saving and emission reduction of national coal-fired power industry as well as the national technology innovation of subcritical unit with an installed capacity of 350 million kilowatts. They showed appreciation for CR Power’s cooperation with Shenergy Technology in implementing the leading technological transformation of the world, and gave advice and suggestions on the future promotion of the project.

 

President Hu Min of CR Power briefly introduced the overall situation of CR Group and CR Power. Taking the conception, negotiation and implementation of the high-temperature subcritical comprehensive upgrading project as the entry point, he reported the ideal goal and specific practice in promoting technological innovation of thermal power enterprises jointly by CR Power and Shenergy in detail, and introduced the application effect of big data platform such as thermal power centralized monitoring and analysis expert system independently researched and developed by CR Power in improving the levels of power plant indicators and the business capability of enterprises.

 

At the end of the meeting, Vice Chairman Hua Jianmin gave instructions. Taking Xuzhou Project #3 unit as an example, whose net coal consumption rate was 295g/kWh and the air pollutant emission index was only 1/3 of the national standards, Chairman Hua highly recognized the achievements made by Xuzhou Project in energy conservation, environmental protection and emission reduction, and proposed that the position of coal in the national energy system should be viewed scientifically, objectively and realistically. We should not talk about “de-coalization” blindly. Chairman Hua pointed out that for the application of high-temperature subcritical comprehensive upgrading technology, Pengcheng 280 (designed net coal consumption rate) should be used as a benchmark, which measures the volume of subcritical units nationwide and the total amount of coal reduction after upgrading. Based on this, we can promote the transformation technology, and we should make every endeavor to think about how to do this “good thing” better and faster. Chairman Hua also stressed that the technical transformation of high-temperature subcritical unit jointly implemented by CR Power and Shenergy Technology was not only an independent innovation but also a grassroots innovation. Only every employee of every factory in every industry pays attention to innovation in their own work, our country can make greater progress in improving its innovation capability.

 

During the meeting, the leaders, academicians and experts visited Xuzhou Project Phase III and Phase II production site such as the centralized control room to investigate the energy-saving upgrading of the million-kilowatt-capacity units, the thermal power centralized monitoring and analysis expert system demonstration, and the #3 unit high-temperature subcritical comprehensive upgrading project. They highly recognized and praised CR Power’s achievements in technology and management innovation.
