CR Power Holds 2018 Sustainable Development Report Preparation Launch & Social Responsibility and Charity Training and Exchange Meeting

On February 28, CR Power held the 2018 Sustainable Development Report Preparation Launch & Social Responsibility and Charity Training Exchange Meeting in Shenzhen. Hu Min, Party secretary and President of CR Power, attended the meeting. Also in attendance were relevant experts from the Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Ernst & Young (China), relevant directors from the China Resources General Office, other departments & offices, major districts, coal branches, and relevant units in charge of social responsibility, public welfare and charity management, as well as report compilers, totaling nearly 70 people.

 

At the meeting, the Holding Office made a work management report on CR Power's social responsibility, interpreting the company's social responsibility work management standards, explained the principles of social responsibility work and the "four systems" management model, and introduced the company's social responsibility work management and practice in recent years, as well as the preparation, release and dissemination of the sustainable development report. Ye Liuhong, Director of Shanghai Division of the Corporate Social Responsibility Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, analyzed the current situation and trends in corporate social responsibility and explained the new requirements and standards for the preparation of the Corporate Social Responsibility for Chinese Enterprises (Version 4.0), the materials for the report, the points for attention in the preparation and excellent examples. The relevant director from Ernst & Young explained in detail the requirements of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's Environmental, Social and Governance Report Guidelines (ESG), as well as the concerns of international capital markets and investors regarding corporate disclosure, etc. Based on this, the director proposed the improvement direction and preparation plan for CR Power's 2018 Sustainable Development Report. Yu Feng, Director of Social Responsibility of the General Office of the Group, shared his views on the full life cycle management in China Resources' social responsibility report, conveyed the Group's social responsibility work requirements of "promoting management through organization and promoting implementation through management", and put forward suggestions on CR Power's social responsibility and report preparation.

 

In the public welfare and charity training, the Holding Office explained in detail the management standards of the company's public welfare and charity activities in combination with the development of the company's public welfare and charity as well as its poverty alleviation work in recent years, focusing on the approval process, specification requirements and points for attention for each unit's public welfare and charity activities. Wang Jie, Deputy Director of the Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, shared the theory and practice of Chinese enterprises’ participation in targeted poverty alleviation. He mainly reviewed the development process of poverty alleviation in China, and shared General Secretary Xi Jinping's important remarks on poverty alleviation and excellent cases of poverty alleviation by Chinese enterprises. Liu Mohan, Secretary General of China Resources Charity Foundation and Director of Public Welfare and Charity at the General Office of the Group, explained the management requirements of the Group's public welfare and charity activities, shared the case of China Resources Hope Town, and answered the questions raised by the participants.

 

In his speech, President Hu Min pointed out that China Resources' 80 years of development is closely related to social development in different periods. He stressed that the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility should be combined with the background of the times, with the people's pursuit for a better life as the goal, and efforts should be made to solve the contradiction between the growing needs of the people for a better life and the unbalanced and inadequate development. In view of the company's social responsibility work, President Hu requires that: First, all employees should enhance their awareness of social responsibility. Every employee of the company is the main performer of corporate social responsibility and should consciously carry out various work under the guidance and standards of social responsibility. Second, focus should be placed on the "three integrations", i.e., integrating corporate social responsibility into strategy, management and culture. Third, efforts should be made to innovate the practice of social responsibility in combination with social pain points and difficulties, actively carry out wind power poverty alleviation projects and harmless disposal of urban sludge and other practices so as to contribute to the innovation and transformation of the company while benefiting the society. Fourth, it is necessary to continuously improve the quality of the sustainable development report and spread its spirit widely, and to continuously raise the "gold content", "influence", "transformation power" and "precision" of the report so as to improve the management level of the company.

 

The meeting aimed to enhance the understanding of CR Power's social responsibility and its public welfare and charity work as well as management requirements within the company, to efficiently promote the preparation of the 2018 Sustainable Development Report, and to provide new ideas for the management innovation and promotion of CR Power's social responsibility as well as its public welfare and charity work.
