Liyujiang Power Plant is located in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. Located approximately 200km from Guangdong Province, The Power Plant is one of the PRC Government's west to east power transmission power plants, supplying power to Guangdong Province. CR Power owns a 60% interest in the joint venture. The Power Plant consists of two 300MW coal-fired units which commercial operations in July and September 2003, respectively.

Electricity generated is sold to Guangdong provincial power grid under China Southern Power Grid Company via its own designed 500 kV transmission line. The coal supply is mainly sourced from Hunan, Henan and Shanxi provinces.
